James Lester aka tames is a drum & bass producer and DJ with a lifelong background in music, first as a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and bedroom producer as a child then later interning in music studios and completing a sound engineering program in college. Launching his earlier music career proved harder than he originally thought, and so he took an 8 year hiatus almost entirely away from music to build a successful photography brand instead, then in early 2023 he found himself full of inspiration and was quickly syphoned back into the world of music production and performance once again. He loves to share the inner landscapes of his mind vicariously through sampled vocal clips that he digs around for online, then pieces seemingly unrelated samples together to create emotive and captivating sonic journeys on top of melodic and dance-floor ready DNB backdrops. While he is fairly new to the dance music scene in this latest expression of his musical prowess, he has quickly made a name for himself in his local music scene and even scored as a finalist for the Lucidity Festival Original Music Submission Contest of 2024 for his original track 'LUCID'. With many more tracks on the way, it's clear that tames has a bright future ahead of him as he continues to moves both bodies and souls with his fun & feelsy sets.

I'm well versed in music production and have quickly picked up DJing, but I'm still very new and have just played clubs, bars, renegades and house parties ~ possibly will be spinning at other theme camps at Lucidity or LIB this year, too.
